Steve Symons
I’ve run a total of 36 marathons to date including the London marathon five times with a sub three hour marathon in 2000. That same year I also ran under the hour mark for 10 miles at Llandudno. I’ve ran the Swiss Alpine 42k Marathon eight times, the Niagara Falls Marathon, plus Berlin, Dublin, Rotterdam, Amsterdam, and Florence along with Boston in 1996 which was the 100th Anniversary marathon. I have run in over 150 plus half marathons including nineteen in Liverpool. Other races also include the English National and Northern Cross Country Championships.
I have also won trophies in the Manchester YMCA own club championship on road and fell on a number of occasions, along with a number of track trophies. I have also been a previous winner of the Benidorm trophy which is for the most outstanding overseas performance by a club member which was for my Swiss Alpine Marathon in 1999. I was also once a team member who took bronze team medal in the Northern Road 10k Championships. The longest race I have ever run to date so far was in 2006 when I completed the Bullock Smithy a 56 mile fell race in and around the Peak District area. There are hundreds of other individual races I have taken part in but too many to list them all.
