At Manchester YMCA Alternative Provision, we track pupil progress through a blend of academic, pastoral, and emotional measures, ensuring every young person’s journey is recognised in full. Progress is co-designed with students, using their EHCP targets as a guide, giving them genuine ownership and autonomy.

Our approach is rooted in evidence-based practice, combining Self-Determination Theory and the Human Givens framework, with outcomes benchmarked through an annual external learning audit. This means commissioners can be confident that our provision delivers measurable results, reduces NEET risk, and meets the highest standards expected by Ofsted.
