Danny McGregor – 1935 to 2019

Danny McGregor was given a 16th birthday present off his father that he will never forgot; his YM membership. He often stated that this was the best thing that could have happened to him.

Danny was an accomplished footballer in his youth and played for many of the football clubs in the North West. Later on in his career, Danny was the commercial manager for 20 years at Manchester United Football Club.

Danny was hugely supportive of the Sporting Heroes project and gave up much of his time to ensure its success.

Danny was a keen Fives player at the YMCA and enjoyed dressing up for their annual dinner dance…

Danny served as a Trustee of the Manchester YMCA and as President from 2005 to 2016.
