Suzanne Budgett

My first big achievement was being awarded the silver medal at the Tour of Tameside and that was presented by legendary Ron Hill. I remember being totally over-awed.

Since then I’ve had county vests for Lancashire and Greater Manchester on the fells and in cross country.

In 2002 I gained selection & represented England at the WMRA (World Mountain Running Association) in Austria and did the same in 2003 for the WMRA in Germany. I remember the first time standing on the start line in Austria with an England vest on and it was like a dream!

I’ve got really fond and happy memories of the YMCA, it makes me smile when I think about it.

1999 – Silver medal in V35 cat at Tour of Tameside – my first big achievement, plus had medal presented by the legendary Ron Hill.  I remember being totally over-awed.

2001 – December, Latrigg Fell Race (my first ever outright win in the ladies & sadly my last race for YMCA Harriers)

2002 – Represented Greater Manchester on the fells at the Inter – Counties

2002 – Gained selection & represented England at the WMRA (World Mountain Running Association) in Austria (England Vest)

2003 – Gained selection & represented England at the WMRA in Germany (England vest)

2004 & 2006 – Represented Lancashireat the Inter-Counties Cross Country

2005 – BMAF 5k, Horwich,Bolton (Gold team)

2009 – BMAF (British Masters) 5k, Horwich,Bolton (Silver V45 cat)

2009 – Individual gold – English Fell Champion – V45 category

2009 – Represented Lancashireat the Inter Counties on the fells (Silver team)
